Ban The Button is a new and simple way to save money and reduce your carbon footprint at the same time.
Ban The Button provides a supply of hard plastic covers which disable the use of the standby button on remote control units. Simple to fit, does not use any other electrical power, is environmentally friendly and, most importantly, will SAVE YOU MONEY.
Ban The Button is easy to use. Select the appropriate size cover from the framed supply of 20 standby button covers to fit over the standby button on a remote control unit. Remove from the frame by twisting off, peel off the backing paper and stick over the standby button and that's it. You now cannot use the standby button and have to turn the electrical device associated with the remote control off using the main switch or at the socket.
Save £40 a year and help save the environment
According to a report from the consumer magazine Which?, leaving a typical home entertainment system - TV, DVD, digital TV receiver and Hi-Fi - on standby when not in use, can cost £40 a year* and also be responsible for 245kg of carbon dioxide emissions**
In many cases, just one Ban The Button pack contains enough covers to disable the use of standby buttons on the main remote control units that are used in the typical home enterainment system.
Using Ban The Button covers means you will need to turn off the electrical device itself and/or at the socket, enabling the cost savings on your electricity bill, reducing your carbon emissions and also giving you a bit of exercise as well!
